The Recalled Ferrari Cars Are Catching Fire

Ferrari, the one of very famous car makers in the world, finally made an official decision to recall all 458 Italia cars the company manufactured this year as a follow up toward a number of reports issuing the luxury cars catching fire. The issue emerged after photos showing the Ferrari cars caught fire came into publicity.

Certainly, this unwanted incident made the company to take vital action by sending its engineers to places around the world where the problem had aroused and the engineers would conduct further investigation especially related to five reports of ‘thermal incidents.’ This should become an effective action to solve the problem.

Regarding the investigation conducted over  a number of troubled Ferrari cars, the company is about to ask car owners of more than 1,200 supercars spread on around the world to drive the cars back to the company for needed modification jobs. This modification is planned to overcome the issue appears.

The reported incidents that attacked Ferrari cars of affiliated model occurred in some places like California, Switzerland, Paris, China, and another place which name is not given for publicity. From most incidents, the company concluded that the problem had been investigated to adhesive used in the wheel-arch assemblies. As quoted from BBC News, a spokesperson mentioned that other occurrence showed the glue is able to start overheating, smoking, and also catching fire.

Furthermore, the worse may happen in some extreme cases, for example when the adhesive is melting, it can cause the heat shield (the liner which is designed to protect the engine) to collapse and shift closer to the exhaust. If it happens, it may cause the lining to catch fire. Therefore, Ferrari made effort to get the action as soon as possible before any worse things emerge.

After the troubled cars are recalled, the company will modify the vehicle to replace the adhesive with mechanical fasteners. Surely, the modification maintained by expertise engineer should be able to eliminate the problem. It seems that Ferrari tries to pay more serious attention this time.

Previously, it is reported that Ferrari was finally starting to recall 458 models after the company conducted an investigation previous month right after photos showing the 458 models on fire on burnt out appeared into the media. Many people around the world must be shocking to realize that cars manufactured by reputable car maker like Ferrari in fact have visible hole.
