Futuristic Concepts Gained Investment

The futuristic concepts that attract great attention from scientific, academic and business circles are regarding the power production. Some concepts have been brought into view including the ideas to use bacteria to make a gasoline-type fuel and sending collectors into space and beaming the sun power back to earth. Those concepts are about to rise funding although, in fact, many other futuristic concepts already raised millions in funding.
The concept of power production is related to the era of green technology, and even though the concepts can become wild innovation or little bit insane, they are gradually getting more attentions. The Industrial designer and entrepreneur, Richard Alan Hales, stated that people who are not afraid of taking chances in perfectly uncharted waters sometimes succeed beyond their wildest dreams and turn the world on its head.
Furthermore, the thought that fringe ideas to be a virtue is delivered by Calif, investment firm Khosla Ventures of Menlo Park, whereas former British Prime Minister Tony Blair said about the people whom he gave his fund to as “a crazy idea that may have a significantly non-zero chance of working.” through its website.
Khosla also gave investment to many companies that come with futuristic concept like AltaRock Energy Inc. the concept is related to the geothermal plan to inject water into the Earth as far as three miles down the ground, and the steam rises up will be used to produce energy.
In fact, a $151 million had been given by US Energy Department to clean-tech ventures in 37 grants. One of the ventures is the one that proposed the funding for bacteria be used to produce gasoline-like fuels. The Secretary of US Energy Department, Stephen Chu, said that there are only three of the funded projects must be worked out for the funding program to gain more success.
Chu added that the department had as well grant for Makani Power Inc’s project which is the Airborne Wind Turbine development that looks like a giant wing. It is said that the device which hasn’t come up with name is able to fly about 1,500 feet when it is connected to the ground by a tether, using the wind currents to produce electricity.
Alameda CEO, Corwin Hardham, argued that such futuristic concept of technology may solve problems in the future, but there is a fact that many people are instinctively afraid of something they don’t familiar with. So, the technology should be proved out to them.
