The Great Competition Among Reputable Smartphones

Today’s smartphones comfort users with many attractive features and reliability. The features are including the applications which are suitable and useful. As has been reported by AdMob, iPhone users are apparently attracted to buy application rather than download it. By January 2010, the application purchase rate of iPhone reached 50 percent and iPod Touch reached 35 percent. Other smartphones also reached certain level but not as high as iPhone, such as Palm’s WebOS that reached 24 percent and Android with 21 percent. All purchases involved at least one application each month.

Compare to other phone devices, iPod Touch gains highest rate of all. iPod Touch owners download 12 applications per month in average. Android and iPhone owners grabbed 9 applications per month whereas Palm’s WebOS reached 6 applications per month.

Also, the average time users spent using the application are varied for each smartphone every month. iPod Touch users spent 100 minutes each month in average using the applications. Right behind iPod is WebOS with 87 minutes, followed by Android with 80 minutes, and the last is iPhone with the users spent 79 minutes in average per month.

Furthermore, related to how many users recommend the devices to other users is also varied for every smartphone. It is reported that 91 percent of iPhone users and 88 percent of iPod users recommended the devices to friends, families, or other people. Android users’ device recommendation reached 84 percent whereas WebOS was at 69 percent.

Moreover, other evaluations AdMob have conducted is regarding to the mobile internet devices. The mobile internet devices or MIDs are getting popular nowadays. It is proved by the raising of the request percentage from merely 12 percent in July increase to 17 percent in January. From the surveys, it is revealed that the interest to buy iPad is various. 16 percent iPhone users were interested to purchase iPad, WebOS users are 11 percent and Android users are 6 percent.
