iPhone’s Download Time versus Android-Based Phone’s Download Time

To be honest, there are several opinions strengthen the idea that Apple’s iPhone works even slower in loading websites than the smartphones running Google’s Android. Based on Blaze Software, Inc located in Ottawa, iPhone’s loading time is 84% slower than Android-based phones and it can be surprising, or rather shocking news.

Whereas Asbury Press reported Blaze’s words that Android-based smartphones took 2.14 seconds to load web pages and iPhone consumes 3.25 seconds. But apparently, the distance of seconds between Android-based phones and iPhone can only be noticeable only when there is significant size to download, with lighter website downloading, the difference is invisible.

Based on Canalys’s report, the UK research company, this is a breakthrough that Android takes its throne in the fourth quarter as the world’s best-selling smartphone OS, beating iPhone.

On the other hand, some analysts who take side for Apple disapproved Blaze’s report reasoning that the company had used speed-measurement software. One of the analysts from research firm Gartner Inc, Michael Gartenberg argued that the software may have neglected the improvements Apple has accomplished to its Safari browser.

Answering the disagreement, Blaze said that the embedded browser for which the Apple had made the optimization wouldn’t give a big impact to Web speeds. Blaze’s chief technology officer, Guy Podjarny added that Google team made use particular tools to improve the browser and website speed. He also commented that Apple has focused on design more and put speed into a product line developed before download times were a main concern.

Blaze made further analysis based on the report saying that Samsung and Apple phones have similar amount of processing power and memory. It means that these may be the browsers the root of issues. According to Google, the team had somehow worked on the desktop version of Chrome browser in part and put improvements to be implemented to Android browser, this is the reason why Android run ahead in Blaze’s tests.

Well i guess that would make sense.. The iPhone relies on samsung's technology and android relies on, well, google's. This doesn't mean Apple isn't going to make improvements. The iphone 5 is supposed to be loads faster. As far sales go, i don't think they should determine which devices is better. Depends on how you use them.
