These new CMOS image sensors are believed to bring tremendous function to Samsung mobile phones.
According to Samsung, the both CMOS image sensors will be available on mass production in different quarter. The S5K4E2 is going to be in mass production by the end of first quarter of 2010.
Whereas the S5K5CA has already been in the phone production along with Samsung’s manufacturing clients. Furthermore, the mobile phones using this technology are expected to be ready on the mainstream market later this year
These new CMOS image sensors are thrown to the mobile phone market as proofs that Samsung keeps putting its hands on the business to bring satisfaction to users and notice their needs. S5K5CA sensor will assist the capability the 720p HD. In details, the S5K5CA is SoC chip with a 1/5-inch 1.4 micron solution with a 3 megapixels sensor will offer you the improvement on signal-to-noise ratio over the previous 3-megapixel sensor up to 10%. It helps you to reduce signal processor by combining the CMOS image sensor for a full system-on-chip product and the image signal processor.
As well as S5K5CA sensor, the S5K4E2 is design as the technology that enhanced Samsung mobile phones. The S5K4E2 is developed to have the capability of recording full resolution video at a 15 frames per second. This image sensor is a ¼-inch micron 5 megapixels chip which is specified for ultra slim smartphones. The strength of this sensor is the built-in improved noise removal technology. It also offers you the depth field (EDof) which has been extended that can be used for reading business cards, bar codes, or other up-close targets are used in popular price comparison application on Android and other leading platforms.
