Google’s Android is Most Favorite OS Recently

Android has become so famous today, it has been rising since many mobile devices are injected with this great operating system. In fact consumers all over the world welcome this operating system warmly, thus its popularity does not only affect the worldwide users but also the company itself. The recent news, Android is planned to be able working in tablet.

According to comScore data, Android keeps climbing by almost 7 percentage points this August. This estimation for smartphone OS and OEM market was based on survey over a number of various cell phone users of aged thirteen or above within three months.

From the resulted data, Research In Motion is still on top of the market, whereas Apple iOS has relatively flat market share especially with Android vast climb. In details, RIM cell phones users represented 37.6% of the 55.7 million United States Residents used phones which means there is a slightly decline at 4.1%. Moreover, Apple operating system share, iOS, gains 24.2% points. Meanwhile, Android leaps 6.6 points to 19.6%.

Surely, Google’s Android has jumped to a significant raise because it turns out to be the most popular operating system for smartphones nowadays. The last month’s review of comScore showed that in July Google grew its market share by 5 points to 17%, with this number Android has taken over Microsoft’s third position as the most popular mobile operating system. This fact appeared several weeks after NPD Group claimed that Google’s Android topped RIM in the second quarter as the most popular mobile operating system sold to United States phone users.

On the other hand, there is significant decline struck Microsoft as it slipped 2.4% points to 10.8%. Other news explained that Microsoft is going to launch the next-generation Windows 7 Phone 7 OS soon. Another phone OS, Palm, remains on its position with slight decline from 4.8% to 4.6% of the market.

Furthermore, the news of sales by OEM showed that Samsung achieves 1.2% points of market share to 23.6%, whereas LG gains 21.2% which means decline to 0.3%. another popular phone maker like Motorola also downs by 2.4% to 18.8%, however it still tops RIM with only 9.0% sales points on the market.

The ups and down may keep continuing in the further future and comScore also claimed slight increase in the percentage of phone users who are utilizing their phones to do actions like sending text messages, using phone browser, downloading content, application and games, and of course other common features available on smartphone.
